Activities

Our chapter adopts the national organization's mission of supporting stay-at-home mothers and communities in which they live in a variety of ways.  Our current activities are as follows:

Mother's support group: We meet on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 10am-12pm. Topics vary and the discussions are member-led. Children are also welcome to attend although an hour is set aside for adult discussion purposes only.

Playgroup: This group is for mothers and their children.  The  playgroup currently meets on the second, fourth, and fifth Tuesdays from 10am - 12pm.

Coffee Break: A meeting intended to provide support for mothers after a long hard day.  Meeting on the second Monday evening of the month... Get ready for some mom-only time.

Field Trips: We also offer a variety of other opportunities for mothers and children to get together outside of playgroup. These are offered on the first and third Thursdays. Locations and times vary depending upon the activity. We try to organize at least one free or low-cost event per month.

Moms Night Out: A monthly gathering for moms only!  Some outings have included pot lucks,spa-pampering, dinner and movies. These events are typically held on the last Friday evening of each month.

Couples Night Out and Family Fun Day: Quarterly gatherings that allow our husbands and school-age children to participate. Some of our past family events have included bowling, picnics, and holiday parties. Our couples events vary as well.

Mocha Dads Night Out: Semi-annual event that allows our husbands to get together. We hope to start to offer these events quarterly in the future.

In addition to our various gatherings, through the spirit of volunteerism, we also perform community service projects throughout the year. By serving our community, members are able to cultivate skills that they are not currently using as well as set an example for our children about the importance of community and  giving back.

Mocha Tweens:  A chance for children ages 6-13 to get together and have their own activites, and community service projects.  This group will begin meeting in July 2005.
